16+ & care leavers
Semi-independent and supported accommodation for young people stepping out of care towards adulthood.
Supported accommodation & outreach · since 1994
For three decades we've given young people and adults at risk a real home and the support to thrive — flexible, needs-led and built around the person.
Who we are
Next Step Care Management (NSCM) was one of the first organisations in the UK to offer a real alternative to residential care — giving people the dignity of their own front door, with the right support beside them. Today we work across the country, providing accommodation and outreach to thousands of young people and adults at risk.
“We don't expect anyone to live anywhere we wouldn't live ourselves.”
Our approach
No two journeys look the same. We meet people where they are and walk with them — at their pace — towards a life they choose for themselves.
A safe, good-quality home with furniture, white goods and the essentials in place — in an area where it feels right to come and go freely.
Budgeting, cooking, health, hygiene and routines — practical life skills, taught with patience and built into daily living.
Education, training, work and positive relationships — encouragement to set goals, make good decisions and believe in what's next.
The support gently steps back as confidence grows, until independent living isn't a goal any more — it's simply life.
Person-centred, always
Our packages flex to fit real lives — from light-touch outreach to intensive, supervised support. We respond quickly, plan carefully, and review constantly, so the support always matches the moment.
